The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising

May I have the last couple of hours back.
This was dumb. This movie is about a boy who on his 14th birthday finds out he has magical powers, which sort of sounds strangly familiar, wasn't there a 7 series set of books of which 5 movies have been made about a boy wizard who on his birthday was told he was a wizard, oh wait Harry Potter was 11, so it's a completely different story. I don't know where to start on how dumb this movie was, so I figure I just won't. All I can say is, was the writers strike going on when this movie was written, because if I wrote about a day in the life of my dog, it would be more compelling than this rubbish. Don't bother watching.

Beowulf

Well just finished watching. It was sort of like Shrek meets 300. The animation in the film was amazing, I kind of wish that I had seen the movie in the theatres in the 3D. Action seens would have been great in the theatre, although they were pretty damn good at home, but you know what I mean. The movie itself was ok, I never read the book, so I don't know if the movie followed the story that closely. I would recommend the movie if you are looking for something with some great animation and action scenes, but for anything else, I wouldn't recommend the movie. Unless you want to see it because you read the book and want to see how closely it follows along. On a brighter note, it was a whole better than the 2005 release of the same story-- Beowulf and Grendle, which was a total waste of time watching.
